Meet the Counselors
Catherine Mullett
Transitional Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade
Catherine has a BA in Psychology and Sociology and an MEd in School Counseling from Seattle Pacific University. Catherine is passionate about partnering with families and enjoys building relationships with students! When not at school, she loves the outdoors, traveling, and reading.
Marina Wolfe
Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grade
Marina has a BA in Human Development and Family Studies and a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Eastern Washington University. This is Marina's third year at IRE and she is excited to continue to support IRE students and families. When not at school, Marina loves the outdoors, traveling and spending time with her family.
Mission Statement
IRE's Comprehensive School Counseling Program supports the academic and social-emotional development of each student by promoting individual uniqueness and community, celebrating diversity, and helping students and families to be healthy and happy.
Our program works to help students become engaged learners, have healthy confidence, and strong social and problem-solving skills, as well as an understanding and excitement about their place in the world.
What Do School Counselors Do?
School counselors are here to support every single student in the building. Counselors do the following:
Teach classroom lessons to all students about a variety of counseling-related topics
Run group counseling activities to support student growth
Provide brief, solution-focused individual counseling to support students academic and social/emotional success
Provide support during crises
Collaborate with school staff, families, and community organizations to support students
Make referrals for appropriate community resources
School counselors do not:
Take disciplinary action
Tell parents/guardians or teachers what to do
Provide long-term therapy.
